Photography Archive Invasion Project – Week Eight

Although the picture is not so great, this is to show why shooting in raw is so important. The original image has blown highlights everywhere. I was able to recover all of the blown highlights simply because I always shoot in raw.

If the original was a jpeg image, it would have been in my recycle bin instead of on my website!!

This project allows me to take a mediocre image (at best) from my archive and try to edit it so it looks good. I plan on doing one image a week for now and see how things go. This project forces me to go through all of those old images in my archive and sharpens my editing skills.

I have tried to come up with an original personal project for some time now and believe this is the one for me. If you are a photographer reading this hopefully it inspires you to attempt an original personal project of your own.

Here is the criteria I am using for this project:

  1. The original image must not be from a client shoot
  2. The image must look ok, not great
  3. I only get 10 minutes to edit the image (In one program only)
