This week I decided to use a picture of my son. This picture shows why you should always shoot in RAW format. Look how you can easily recover shadows without adding any noise whatsoever.
So what did I do you ask? I corrected the exposure, white balance and enhanced the blue eyes.
This project allows me to take a mediocre image (at best) from my archive and try to edit it so it looks good. I plan on doing one image a week for now and see how things go. This project forces me to go through all of those old images in my archive and sharpens my editing skills.
I have tried to come up with an original personal project for some time now and believe this is the one for me. If you are a photographer reading this hopefully it inspires you to attempt an original personal project of your own.
Here is the criteria I am using for this project:
- The original image must not be from a client shoot
- The image must look ok, not great
- I only get 10 minutes to edit the image (In one program only)
